Why the Foundation exists
SOS Global was built to fulfill a purpose that came before the company itself: to serve as an economic engine for the nonprofit organizations and ministries doing work that markets don’t reward on their own.
Its founders had spent years leading and serving on the boards of their own nonprofits, and had seen firsthand how little capital consistently reaches mission-driven work. Their answer was to build a for-profit company designed to reward its investors while generating sustainable profit for the causes it exists to serve.
Every investor, partner, and team member across SOS commits to that same mandate.
Foundation Financial Programs
Two paths connect SOS Global’s commercial activity directly to the organizations it supports.
SOS Common Good Initiative
Helps nonprofit organizations generate income for their own operations and special projects, simply by referring their members, donors, and stakeholders to SOS products and services.
- A share of net sales from those referrals, paid back as a donation
- A preferred rate on SOS products and services for the nonprofit itself
- A dedicated SOS team member assigned to each partner for ongoing guidance
SOS Grant
Funded by the Foundation’s share of SOS Global’s net profit and by contributions generated through the Common Good Initiative.

- Support directed toward operations and special projects
- Aligned with the Foundation’s broader mission and priorities
SOS Academy
The Foundation’s education arm, training the next generation of leaders and technicians in smart city and renewable energy skills.
